Which humanoid should you get?
- To learn, code and experiment on a budget: the Unitree R1 Air or R1. Small, cheap by humanoid standards, and you import it yourself.
- For a university, school or company lab: the Unitree G1 EDU. It is the most used research humanoid, sold in the UK with VAT invoices and support. Make sure you buy an EDU version: the basic G1 cannot run your own code.
- For shows and events: hire rather than buy. A G1 or Ameca with an operator costs a fraction of buying one.
- For your home: wait for 1X NEO, or read every robot butler on the way.
Questions people ask
Can you buy a humanoid robot in the UK?
Yes. The Unitree G1 is sold in the UK by Scan from £28,799.99 inc VAT, with the programmable EDU version at £29,999.99. Cheaper humanoids such as the Unitree R1 ($4,900 list price) can be ordered from the maker and imported.
What is the cheapest humanoid robot?
The Unitree R1 Air, at a US$4,900 list price before shipping and import costs. It is a small development and education robot, not a home helper.
Can I hire a humanoid robot instead?
Yes. UK operators hire out Unitree G1 humanoids and robots like Ameca and Pepper for events, with someone to run them. Our hire form gets you up to three quotes.
Is there a humanoid robot for the home?
Not in the UK yet. 1X NEO (US$20,000) and Weave Isaac 1 (US$7,999) are on order in the US, and 1X says other markets from 2027.
